Dawn Hudson, Starling PD Lieutenant of the Burglary, Crime, & Property Scene Unit, is a single mom who needs just one lead to find her missing love. Jacob Anthony Malone, her husband, vanished without a trace, four years ago. This left her and her son, Austin, heartbroken, confused, and lost. To make matters worse, those close to them call Jacob a deserter, a traitor. Assigned to a new case, she discovers a foe so big, she only scratches the surface. She may have the lead, but it might cost her something more precious to her, than her husband’s reputation.
Just finished the paperback version last night for Amazon. It's 14.99. It ended up being 446 pages. And there is no other way to cut it down. I added the first draft of Fatal Dawn which was going to be the second book, but now it's called Red Dawn and Fatal Daw will be the third book.
Each story will be a full-length novel.
DAWN HUDSON BACKGROUND
Born on December 23, 1992
Born to a mother who was a legend in the Starling PD and a father who is a retired DEA Agent, Dawn went into Law Enforcement as soon as she was old enough due to her mother being gun downed on the job when Dawn was sixteen years old. The investigation into her mother's death was never solved.
She went to Criminal Justice school after graduating high school. She was thankful her three older sisters helped her throughout those hard years. She had Austin when was just 17 years old after dating her first ever love, Jacob Malone. She needed the help because Jacob got a job that led him to needing to travel all over the world and he would be gone months at a time, to support the family he made. Dawn never knew what he truly did. But he always told her that he did IT work for a company. He couldn't even tell her the name. She did a background search on the company and kept asking him what he truly did besides IT work, and he could never tell her.
Dawn joined the SPD on January 4, 2010. She started as a patrol officer, then worked her way to the Burglary, Crime, & Property Scene Unit. After many years, she finally made Lieutenant on her anniversary of being a police officer, she made lieutenant of the BCPSU! Everyone was so proud of her. Including Jacob.
Their love was strong but with him constantly gone, Dawn was having hard times raising a son on her own while going to school. Her father was also a big help and when she finally made the force, the entire family was so proud. Jacob was also. He promised her only four years of being a Marine. But four years turned into many.
And in 2018, the letters stopped coming. He stopped coming home on leave. She did everything in her power to try find out why but there's been nothing in four years. Her story starts in 2022 and takes place after Renegade Storm, which is Charlotte Rinning's story. Char and Dawn are real good friends and hang out whenever they can.
